“Alex is fantastic. He is an educator steeped in passion and compassion. He gets students to think and discover. Alex taught my son for over 3 years at a local high school and brought him an incredibly rich, diverse, well-informed, and intellectually stimulating curriculum. My son loved learning from him. I highly recommend Alex for any kind of academic tutoring or other programs.

Alex has a passion for transformational, holistic education that cultivates the mindset, skills, and knowledge to live a life of genuine thriving and fulfillment. Combining intellectual rigor with emotional intelligence, he loves to guide and mentor adolescents to create a life that is both meaningful and successful.
Throughout his time working with adolescents over nearly the past decade, in roles ranging from humanities teacher, mentor, coach, program manager, and guidance counselor, he has always loved supporting students to explore and work toward their next steps after high school. He has worked closely with students through the entire lifecycle of college admissions, including selecting a group of schools and programs to apply to that meet their goals and personality, developing compelling admissions essays and application materials, processing the experience of hearing back from schools, and finally choosing where to matriculate.
Alex graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Philosophy and Master’s Degree from DePaul University in Continental Philosophy. At Boston College, he was a member of their Honors Program, a four-year interdisciplinary Socratic Great Books program aimed at investigating the fundamental texts and ideas of the western canon, including philosophy, poetry, literature, religion, and social science. He was a Founding Humanities Teacher at the Academy of Thought and Industry, designing and leading several courses including Liberal Arts, Socratic Humanities, Literature, US History, and Life Design. Currently, he leads the Mentorship and Independent Study Programs at the Socratic Experience, facilitates Nature Meditation Retreats, and plays electric guitar in several musical projects around the Bay Area.
