Brain Training in the Digital Age, Admissions Essays
“Thanks to Cristina’s help with his essays, my son got into several of the colleges on his list, including some real stretch schools. He is now attending one of his top pick schools, on a full scholarship.”
– Crysti (Walnut Creek)
Cristina began her obsession with critical thinking in the age of technology as a curious Bay Area high schooler during an English lesson on media bias. At a young age, she recognized that digital technology was changing the way students learned, and society interacted, and wanted to understand the how’s and why’s. Throughout her legal education, Cristina has retained focus on technology and society, delving into policies on technology, data protection, democratic preservation, and institutional trust in her research and teaching.
Cristina holds a BA in Psychology from UC San Diego, as well as an LLM in European Law from Université Panthéon Assas Paris II, and a JD from Boston University School of Law. After some time in legal practice, Cristina’s passion for teaching and deep desire to add her voice to scholarship on technology and society brought her to Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in Germany, where for the past five years, she has worked as a Lecturer in Law and Policy while conducting PhD research on regulatory approaches to false information online.
Throughout the course of her doctoral research, Cristina has been driven by one crucial discovery: the answer to all questions tech is societal resilience, and the one proven way to create societal resilience is education. By providing education on technology and critical thinking, Cristina is doing her part to ensure that technology bolsters human curiosity, as opposed to stifling it.
When Cristina isn’t teaching, you can find her traveling the world, most likely in search of another dog to pet.
