Writing Enrichment, Essay Composition
Dylan believes that critical thinking and writing skills go hand in hand. He values the holistic application of tools from both literary and academic writing in the many facets of life ahead. He emphasizes the values of personal guidance and patience, adapting his approach to the unique literary and academic talents of each student. He has a passion for guiding students in insightful analysis, creative expression, and academic composition.
Central to Dylan’s teaching philosophy is that writing should never feel like a chore, but rather an inviting space for exploration and discovery. He holds that every student is capable of uncovering deeper thoughts and personal truths through the written arts. As a current English student at the University of California, Irvine, he brings fresh insight into the challenges and rewards of literary study.
Dylan served for two years as editor in chief of the College of Marin Literary Magazine, where his own work was also published, and has appeared in online literary magazines. In 2022, he published his first book of short stories, and is currently at work on a collection of Middle English poetry. He divides his spare time between observing the natural world, writing poems, and learning new languages.
