With experience teaching K-12 in both private and public schools, Rebekah approaches teaching literacy and math by creating a safe, nurturing environment where learning is both fun and interactive. She emphasizes iteration, allowing children to explore and practice new skills at their own pace while fostering empathy and adapting to each child's unique learning style.
Rebekah is a researcher and PhD candidate in Learning Science and Language at UC Berkeley. Her access to UC Berkeley's cutting-edge research at the embodied cognition lab, SPEED, enables her to incorporate innovative strategies that further enrich the learning experience.
She holds a B.S. in Linguistics and a B.A. in English from UC Berkeley, and she completed an undergraduate fellowship in literacy at the University of Oxford. Additionally, she earned an M.S. in Learning Science and Education from UC Berkeley, where she continues her research in the PhD program.
Rebekah currently teaches an upper-division Letters and Science literacy class alongside Glynda A. Hull, a distinguished professor of Language and Literacy. With five years of experience in college admissions, Rebekah has successfully guided numerous students into their top-choice schools, including Harvard and MIT.
