"Ross really listens and knows how to connect with my son. He is very patient and encouraging. My son loves working with him!"

- Zoe (Mountain View)

Ross believes all children possess the innate learning skills of joy, curiosity, problem solving, inquiry and a quest for understanding. As an educator and tutor, Ross feels his primary role is to shepherd children through the necessary academic and social-emotional skill development in their Elementary years to provide a foundation for a lifetime of school and career achievement.

With a comprehensive range of Elementary Education teaching experience spanning Transitional Kindergarten through Middle School, Ross has a special passion for supporting the development of crucial Upper Elementary skills in foundational Reading and Writing skills (Phonemic awareness and phonics, language and vocabulary development, Reading Comprehension, Fiction character studies and Nonfiction research tools, paragraph and essay writing skills) and Mathematics development (Multiplication facts, division, fractions and decimal operations, decoding word problems).

Raised by a family of educators in New England; Ross graduated with honors from Portsmouth Abbey School, before pursuing his BA in Theology and Buddhist Studies at Bates College. He has lived, studied, and traveled extensively throughout Mongolia through a fellowship with the School of International Training. Ross relocated to the Bay Area in 2010, and completed his Elementary Education Credential and Masters Degree at the San Francisco State University Graduate School of Education. He has been a devoted educator in the Bay Area for the last eight years.

When not in the classroom, Ross can be found up and down the coastline checking the waves with wife Laura, his three daughters, Lucinda (8), Frankie (5), and June (3), and his cattle dog Ruby.
