To teach writing is to teach critical thinking. How does one order one’s thoughts with clarity and concision? These are the deeper skills involved in learning to write well.

We believe in the importance of teaching students the process of drafting and re-drafting essays, of getting their thoughts onto the page in order to clarify their own thinking about a topic, book, or an idea.

Over time, and with enough support, every student can develop the skills necessary to translate thoughts to the page, within a compelling frame.
